BIOGRAPHY
Her voice, like a ray of sunshine, is both warm and bright. Her singing is halcyon, distinct and heartfelt. Lynette sings with the confidence and clarity of a woman who really knows her own voice. Which makes sense, since she says she’s been singing for as long as she can remember. Writing her first song at the tender age of seven, Lynette knew music would always be a big part of her life. She began classical voice training at the age of eleven.

Seizing every opportunity to learn and grow musically, she sang in everything from school and church choirs to semi-professional musical theater and private recitals. She even had the opportunity to perform as part of an elite choir at Carnegie Hall. In high school, Lynette began writing and performing in earnest, setting her sites on NYU’s prestigious Tisch School of the Arts.

In a twist of fate, following an early acceptance to Tisch for musical theatre, she was also accepted to Princeton University. Feeling that this was an opportunity that couldn’t be missed, Lynette chose to pursue academics at Princeton University. While there, she focused her undergraduate studies on sociology and music. In her independent research she studied the world of music and the power of its application in society. During this time, Lynette still found time for her music taking as many music and songwriting courses as she could and singing and writing at every opportunity. She was also a member of the Princeton Tigerlilies, an elite all-female a cappella group.

Since attending university, Lynette has had the opportunities to do some songwriting and recording at various studios in Nashville. Her studies, extensive travels, life experiences and the friends she’s made along the way have helped to significantly shape her musical tastes and writing and performance styles.

Lynette’s lyrics have a poetic quality and bring to bear the power and multiplicity of words. Her music attempts to express and illuminate the power of common, shared experiences: life, love and hope. Lynette is currently working on an EP.
